Artist Reach Official Review- Artist Reach

Hailing from our neighboring state of New Jersey brings you some female-fronted, catchy-acoustic awesomeness; better known under the name Autumn City.

I have to admit, while most times I’m listening to “singles” or “demos”, I took the liberty of listening to every track from their recently released LP, “Tuesday’s Song”.

While for some fans it might be easy to pick a “favorite” track off this album; meanwhile for me, my favorite track is, well, the entire CD. And I mean that in a way where it’s an album that doesn’t need a “hit single” to be boasted or marketed; what makes this album is…the album. And I have a feeling you know exactly what I’m talking about. Where the entire CD is almost an entire song in and of itself. No need to skip tracks. Just let it play from start to finish, and take it all in. Because the simplicity and beauty of acoustic music is, it’s so easy-going and soothing like a back rub. Nothing gets too rough and nothing goes stale. You just let the moment be exactly just that…the moment. Don’t try to rethink it.

Autumn City is one of those talented, well-written, and good-vibe kinda groups that is perfect to order some good beer or wine at your favorite venue/drinking spot, and just enjoy the heart and soul of this group. The music has that cleverness of the likes of Jack Johnson, the fun-loving vibe of Paramore, and the steadiness & consistency of the acoustic days of The Spill Canvas.

By Jeff Crespi-

"Autumn City is a three piece Alternative Rock Band featuring Aster Pheonyx (Vocals, Guitar), Audra Thomas (Bass) and Amanda Kelly (Percussion). Their cd release show was held at The Saint in Asbury Park to help promote Tuesday’s Song which consists of 11 amazing sounding tracks. It was recorded at Showplace Studios in Dover, NJ. and engineered by Ben Elliott.

As I listened to the cd I was so impressed with Aster’s incredibly soulful voice. It sounded like each and every word she sang was going to be her last. I felt like every song came from the passion inside her heart. Autumn City has a sound that just makes your body vibrate and tingle all over with excitement. I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Thank you guys for letting me capture the show through my lens."

Review from ON REQUEST MAGAZINE-

"Whoever said that women couldn't do anything a guy could do clearly never met Autumn City. This incredible all girl trio of alt/indie rockers from New Jersey have come together to bring to life a collection of songs filled with inspiration, heartache, and life changing events that showcase humanity's ability to rise above the pain and destruction of the past and move forward to a brighter horizon. Their album, 'Tuesday's Song' is a true testament to the inspirational nature of indie/alt music, and Autumn City's unique take on the genre is what makes them poised to take the world by storm.

Consisting of bassist Audra Thomas, Amanda Kelly on percussion, and singer and guitarist Aster Pheonyx, Autumn City has that unique blend of both hauntingly beautiful artistry and radio friendly music that could easily put them on the map. Their debut album features hit songs such as "Street Signs", "Indigo", and one of our personal favorite tracks, "In Your Eyes", and showcases what it means to combine hard-hitting lyrics with soft and lovely music." - On Request Magazine

 The Musicians Rock Network-

#TMRNWorld #Music #News Wire [AUTUMN CITY] :: On Saturday evening, Rocktober 25th, THE SAINT was holding a Halloween costume party with drink specials and a whole lotta local original talent, including this big surprise, that left a huge impression on me. It was my first time hearing or seeing the band. They were amazing and although it was an acoustic set, I enjoyed it even more with its "organic feel", as I was able to hear the fine talent of this remarkable voice in Aster Pheonyx, with her band, alternative indie rock Autumn City of Central New Jersey, that took the stage at around 9:40 PM.

I stood by Tom & Kait of 18th & Addison before their late evening set while I took photos listening to vocals that were dynamic, passionate and pleasant, hitting the music hunger deep down inside. AUTUMN CITY are: Aster Pheonyx (vocals, guitar, piano), Audra Thomas (bass), and Amanda Kelly (percussion). Aster has that ability to hold an audience much the same way I recall the first time I heard Melissa Etheridge, and that is who she reminded me of. Her voice is captivating! I would definitely want to see Autumn City again and for those of you in the Central Jersey area, put this band on your MUST SEE list! You wont be disappointed!

With so much talent in the world today, its important to "Get Out, Think Music, Go Local, Go Rock" and check out bands you've never heard before. You never know how much you could be blessed by listening to something new, fresh, and original as Autumn City. That's the great thing about the music scene wherever life may find you in this world. You never know!

Here's the latest news on the band and what they have said on whats upcoming for them! → The band members are currently touring the tri-state area and getting ready to enter the studio to record their debut album, “Tuesday’s Song” set to release in early 2015.
